2015 is where things seemed to really come together for me. I made the top 50 cut in 4 of the 8 regular season Elite Series tournaments and obtained the goal of qualifying for the AOY Top 50 Championship at the end of the year. I finished 9th at the AOY Tournament and secured a spot in the 2016 Bassmaster Classic at Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees this coming March. I finished the year in 26th place in the AOY Elite Series Points race. However, the week before the AOY event is when I experienced the most special day of my life by winning at home in front of all my friends and family at the Bassmaster Central Open on Fort Gibson Lake. This guaranteed me a berth at the Bassmaster Classic at Grand before the Elite Series points were all set, and took the pressure off of having to do well at the Bassmaster AOY tournament.
What a special year it was, and one I’ll never forget. I finished in the top 10 in the last two Bassmaster Elite Series tournaments and last two Bassmaster Central Opens of the year. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to beat that, but if I do, I don’t know if anything will ever overshadow the way things happened this year. I would like to thank God, my Family, Friends, Fans and my Sponsors that have stood behind me for several years now to make everything happen.
